MSAD #71 Middle School of the Kennebunks - Kennebunk, Maine

Description

A 123,000 square foot school designed to serve up to 760 students, grades 6 through 8. The school is comprised of two buildings. The building facing the street is a two-story structure made up of classroom wings and ancillary spaces, with the media center and administrative offices at the core. Behind and connected to it by a central corridor is a single story structure housing the cafetorium, gymnasium, locker rooms, music rooms and support spaces.

Of critical importance was the idea that each grade level be housed in it’s own building wing, creating a more intimate setting that supports and enhances the educational program.

Mr. Feagles acted as project architect/ project manager for this project while in the employ of SMRT.
